JAMES ORMSTON BURNS (1925 - 1998) has often been described as the 'British Leo Fender' a well-deserved and apt title because there are many parallels to be drawn between the two men.

Jim Burns too was very much a pioneer, and his policy of continual development and refinement reflected a constant quest to realise his vision of the ideal electric guitar.

Distinctive design ideas were more than matched by accompanying hardware and circuitry and although some such aspects bordered on gimmickry, others offered genuine innovation, and have become accepted concepts, later to be claimed as firsts by other, more illustrious conveniently forgetful makers...
 

 

 

The Burns 50th Anniversary all Gold Dream model is a special model that has been produced to celebrate 50 years of Burns London (1960 to 2010).

Only 50 will be made of this 50th Anniversary model as a strictly limited edition. It has a hand-signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and features the new Rez-o-Matik® Noiseless ENR pickups.

Burns® London has released the new Apache Noiseless Special guitar, which has an Alder Body finished in White Polyester or Transparent Red,

It has 5 Star figured Maple neck with Ebony Fingerboard and Pearl Binding, the word Apache inlaid in mother or pearl in the 12th fret.

It comes with Burns® Rez-o-Matik® Noiseless Pickups and has the Apache symbol engraved on the Rez-o-Tube® tremolo plate.

The Dream guitar was designed as a Burns flagship model to celebrate our 50th anniversary and to satisfy the many requests of our customers for a more versatile professional guitar. The main features of the Dream model are the figured maple top and figured maple neck 22 frets instead of the standard 21.

Available in three finishes: Trans Red, Trans Blue and Red-burst.

Fitted with the new noiseless Rez-o-Matik Pickups designed by our chief engineer Mr Alan Entwistle. These pickups have taken Alan over two years to develop and were originally intended for our 2007 Apache series.
