Jet
Pilot
1957
Starring
Janet Leigh
John Wayne
A Soviet aviatrix and American pilot fall for each other.
Producer
Howard
Hughes
unsuccessfully tried to woo
Janet, one of his few failures in this area.
This film was distributed several years after shooting
due to Hughes' procrastination in the cutting room,
by which time the aircraft technology displayed was out-of-date.
For the 1950`s the plot stretches credibility, when we are
expected to believe
that beautiful Janet is a highly proficient Soviet aviatrix,
who speaks with an American accent.
John
Wayne
her co-star,
shared the same original surname as Janet,
he being Marion Morrison and she being Jeanette.
This was the movie where
the script required the non-smoking Janet
to smoke for the first time and where she picked up the habit.

Josef Von Sternberg
