Act of Violence

1948

Starring
Van Heflin
Robert Ryan

After the war an ex-soldier seeks revenge on a prison camp informer.

This is a moody and atmospheric melodrama with a strong
and experienced cast which stretched the skills
which 20 year-old Janet had learned up until then.
She was working with a seasoned cast and crew
and whenever the filming was stopped she apologised,
nervously, though often incorrectly, thinking it must be her fault.
To stop her from saying "I'm sorry" all the time they introduced a penalty kitty
on the set with a 1-cent fine for each "offence".
She thus contributed 3 dollars to the end of picture party.
